In 2010, Goodwill helped more than 2.4 million people train for careers in industries such as banking, IT and health care, to name a few — and get the supporting services they needed to be successful, such as English language training, additional education, or access to transportation and child care. Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire employs 550 people, provided services to approximately 17,000 people and placed about 650 people in real jobs in our community this year (2011).
Goodwill is one of the world’s largest nonprofit providers of education, training, and career services for people with disadvantages, such as welfare dependency, homelessness, and lack of education or work experience, as well as those with physical, mental and emotional disabilities. We offer customized job training, employment placement and other services to people who have disabilities, lack education or job experience, or face employment challenges. Nationally, last year, Goodwill agencies across the country collectively provided employment and training services to more than 720,000 individuals.
At Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire, our mission is to assist people with disabilities and other barriers to employment to live independently and become employed.
Help us make dreams come true
When you give to Goodwill, you’re opening doors to employment, independence, and opportunity for people in your community. Your charitable gifts to Goodwill provide job training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities; people who want to work, so they can earn a living, support their families, and enjoy the benefits that independence, self-sufficiency, and personal contribution afford.
At Goodwill, we believe work builds strong families, and creates the economic energy that builds strong communities. And at Goodwill, everything – from your donations, to the revenue they generate, to the specialized training it provides – everything stays in the community.
